He has extensive experience assisting clients whose applications have been refused on the basis of broad or insufficiently evidenced concerns relating to credibility, financial circumstances, or intention. Examples include preparing pre-action protocol representations for visitor visa applicants from regions associated with higher refusal rates, and handling appeals for 20-year private life applicants who have limited documentary evidence of their residence in the UK.

Xijia also has experience advising on applications outside the HC 395 Immigration Rules, helping clients present exceptional circumstances in cases involving complex medical issues, spent convictions, and other factors.
